We are so proud and excited to announce our newest couple: Sarah + Adam. This is also our first post of the year in 2008.
While we are at it, we wish every one of our blog visitors a happy New Year!
Sarah + Adam, flew us down to Acapulco to photograph their wedding at Casa Iguana - a villa built right into the cliffs (more about the villa will come later). The two had a slightly rocky start we learned when we first met, from 6 bags of their luggage not making it. It later arrived no problems - but despite their situation, it was so obvious how they always put the welfare of others before their own.
Sarah and her dad John, own one of Ontario's foremost and growing travel agencies: Durham Travel. Check them out at http://www.durhamtravel.ca. If you're interested in booking a destination wedding we highly recommend their services. Sarah apparently also specializes in extreme travel trips such as safari's in Africa.
Of course, with a travel agency to back you up, finding a place like Casa Iguana, a beautiful villa, would be a natural to you. :) From custom served meals cooked by our fabulous cook, all the way to an indoor pool, the venue was superb. For more information about Casa Iguana, contact Sarah directly at +1 (866) 656 6601.
What say you to some pictures? :)
We began the day by driving into Acapulco for our hair and makeup appointment at The Hair Salon. (that's the actual name)
We had a lot of fun at the hair salon, and afterwards too. Especially with the fake lashes ;) (inside joke)
Then we went back to Casa Iguana for the final prep.
The moments before the ceremony were filled with anticipation and excitement - and then the big moment arrived.
And the two were pronounced husband and wife!
But let's backtrack a little bit.... before the ceremony, a short but important part of the day took place at the beach where we took the bridal party pictures before the wedding.
And here we have the bunch of crazies. ;)
After the ceremony, we proceeded to the reception.
Sarah wanted to take her beautiful veil off, so we took a few pictures with it on her first. And of course, here we have also our beautiful couple together on the beach.
At the reception, so much tears, joy, and emotions, as everyone expressed their well wishes and blessings on the couple
Then it was time for the bouquet, garter toss, cake cutting, and can't forget.... the shoes. (a requested shot by the mother of the bride) ;)
Here we have our couple enjoying their first dance. These showcase the beautiful villa in the evening light as well.
Fast forward to the after-day session. We began at the villa because of its breathtaking views.
Super close to the villa (within walking distance) was some colorful walls that we had to use.
More of our couple at the villa.
With the sun blazing hot in Acapulco, registering 31 degrees celcius but feeling more like 40, we had so much fun in the sun - literally. :)
One of our favorite locations of the day was the beach. We found a relatively empty spot on the beach with the crashing tides.
But all that was nothing compared to how into each other Sarah and Adam were.
Then it was off to one of the most intense and crazy locations we've been. A rock island in the middle of the ocean that we'd spotted from afar with razor sharp rocks. Oh the things we do for pictures. ;)
Sarah had expressed her willingness to trash her dres before. So we ended the after-day session with a signature JMP Trashion session in the Pacific Ocean. :)
One of our favorite moments was when a bunch of Mexican children came up to Sarah and started splashing her. ;)
... finally, it all culminated in our couple jumping off the rocks into the ocean... Kenneth falling in with them and cutting up his hand in the process. ;)... and Elaine losing her shoes in the water. Lol. Good times.
And here we have our almost certainly crazy bunch.
But we can't leave you without showing more of the splendor of Acapulco. The sunsets were unreal and the villa was a beautiful establishment.
We also spent a week photographing the whole group spending time together in various ways, from beach outings, to boating tours. Here are some of the images from those events.
We leave you with a group shot of everyone who was at the wedding. With so much energy, and surrounded by so much enthusiasm, how couldn't we feel like family?
We are so blessed to have met and spent a week with all of you guys. A big shout-out goes to everyone who made it out to the wedding (especially Linda + Dennis). You all made a huge impact in our lives, and we are better people for it today.
Sarah + Adam, thank-you for choosing us to be your destination wedding photographers. We are so blessed to know that we have new friends in Toronto, and as we look back on your wedding images we'll never be able to think of Acapulco without thinking of you two as well.
Blessings on you!
Kenneth + Elaine
