We're back from spending a week and a bit down in the Dominican Republic with our craziest bride and groom ever. Nicole + Cory brought us down with them to witness their beach wedding at the fabulous Grand Palladium Resort and then proved their utter craziness by destroying the dress. :) Nothing like a bride willing to do just about anything for her pictures.
Nicole went all out for her wedding, with a beautiful gown, full wedding party and her choice of the Grand Palladium. It was such an honor and blessing to spend a week with Nicole + Cory, their friends and family, and getting to learn more about the diverse and rich culture in the Dominican.
About the dress trashing, Nicole warned us before she did it that she was afraid of water. For a person who's afraid of getting submerged in water we were stunned at how crazy she got. Beyond leaping into the pool, dress and all, she swam underwater for awhile despite her fears. Major props Nicole for proving yourself a JMP extreme bride!
Once again, Nicole + Cory, thank-you for choosing us as your destination wedding photographers. We were honored and truly blessed to have experienced your day together with you, meeting and getting to know your friends and family and to have had the incredible joy of creating your beautiful set of images.
Cheers!
Kenneth + Elaine
Here's more about our trip: Being Christians, we make it a point to find a church to go to no matter the country. During our stay in the Dominican it was clearly God's arrangement for us to meet a really awesome fellow named Julio who graciously came back to the resort on Sunday (when it was his day off) just to bring us to church. Heading out with him by bus to his place we stayed with him for a bit in his house while he got ready for church. After that we headed out to church and enjoyed a three hour service in Spanish, and understood about 2% of it. Regardless of that, it was such an incredible experience to participate in worship with the spanish people in the Dominican and to witness their love for God.
