We are so blessed and excited to announce this new blog post for our latest destination couple, Keren-Dee and Teofilo (aka Teddy). We spent an amazing week with these guys down in sunny Acapulco Mexico. It never fails to be beautiful weather down in Acapulco.
This was our first Jewish wedding that we've covered. We've seen them before, but this was our first shooting one. Needless to say it was beautiful and surreal. Spending time with their family, getting to know everyone, witnessing their special cultural services, and documenting the moments, was a very great privilege for us.
Keren-Dee and Teddy had over 250 people at their destination wedding - a substantial amount! This is by far the largest destination group we've ever photographed.
Well let's get to some pictures shall we? :)

Our first session with the two was a really awesome engagement session. The driver of our bus knew some awesome locations including a house with a zero edge pool overlooking the entire Acapulco Bay. Our crazy couple promptly jumped over the rails and walked along the edge of the pool with no safety nets for some interesting pictures.

Then we headed out to the beach at Casa del Mar where we played in the tide and just had an amazing time.

Keren-Dee and Teddy are incredibly gorgeous, and their love is evident to all. They were so awesome to work with.

Here are some pictures from the rehearsal that same day, and the Mikveh ceremony for Keren-Dee. During the special ceremony the bread is broken over her head.

And while the Mikveh was going on, the guys were out on the Fairmont Golf Course. While searching for Teddy, we were given a golf cart and drove around trying to find him. It was super fun driving that little cart. ;)

Here we have the Shabbat supper, including the speech made by Keren-Dee.

Then onto the wedding day, Keren-Dee had some beautiful elements. Just love her dress and her shoes.

We had to capture the prep really quickly because the first meeting was soon afterwards. :)

Our couple chose to have their pictures done *before* the ceremony, and made a point to make a special first meeting out of it.

Then we headed out for our couple session. We worked with some pretty astounding locations all on the neighboring resort. Keren-Dee and Teddy look absolutely incredible.

After that we headed back for family pictures. Keren-Dee and Teddy didn't have an extensive array of bridesmaids and groomsmen. Instead they chose to use flower girls and ring bearers. Keren-Dee's maid of honor was her sister.
We couldn't resist but ask the Mexico National Football (Soccer) team for a picture! It's not everyday that these celebrities are just staying at the same resort as you. :)

The ceremony that followed was held just after sunset. It was a very heart-stirring Jewish ceremony with the 7 circles, the blessings, and then at the end Keren-Dee and Teddy surprised everyone with an amazing Fireworks show!!!

The reception followed immediately afterwards with stunning decor and their first dance. The first dance was crazy fun. These guys surprised everyone with a nice slow song, then a fake mess up on the sound system, and then broke out into some spectacular jiving, ending it all off with a waltz and dip. Nothing short of fantastic!

Then time for the Horah. Teddy was thrown up and down in the air a few times and the couple was lifted around on chairs while about 100+ people danced as hard as they could. It was super hot, super humid and everyone got super sweaty. But man, it was super sweet! Love the high energy action in these Jewish weddings.

This sequence is quite funny. Here we have Teddy's parents being lifted up on the chairs. Love the expression of Teddy's dad.
On the bottom left we have Kenneth being thrown up and down on the dance floor. No worries, no one was hurt while this happened! :)
And on the bottom right we have the super awesome band that made the dance such a jumpin' hip-hop time. These extremely hyper guys on stage were singing and dancing their hearts out, they knew their stuff down pat. The momentum was contagious!

We end it all off with a smashing bouquet & garter toss at the wee hours of the morning. ;)
A week after we got back from Acapulco, our couple having also returned from a second trip to Cabo, we got this email from them.
Hi Guys,
Wow wow wow! You guys were simply amazing - we can not put into words just how fabulous you were to work with and we feel so proud to been able to have you as our international photographers.
Our entire family was blown away, not only by your ability to be in 10 places at once with energy, enthusiasm and creativity, but they loved how personable and caring you were to each and everyone of them! You guys made our guests feel so important and a part of each activity - you guys were fantastic!
We want to give you an extra thank you for the endless hours of time you gave us - we loved every minute of it, and by the end, we got so creative with taking our own pictures with our cameras. You helped us over come our shyness and really began to enjoy taking photos and capturing the special moments.... where ever we went. We will never forget just how adventurous our engagement session was - could it have been any more humid? Pheww!
Teddy and I can't wait to see pictures, that is all we can talk about since the event! So many people have shared amazing stories with us, and we can't wait to see what you caught on digital film!
We just want to truly thank you for holding out in the unbearable heat - through sweat and more sweat, you guys really were a blast to work with. Not only do you make us laugh and have a great time, but your professionalism and etiquette is impeccable - we were blown away!
We still are wondering just how you guys maneuver so fast - from rolling in and out of shots and being tossed in the air by our guests, we want to thank you for giving it all you had and helping us create the most memorable wedding we could have ever imagined!...
...We hope you enjoyed the wedding as much as we did (even though I know you were working!) Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
Warmest Regards, Keren-Dee and Teddy
Keren-Dee and Teddy, I'm sure we're not the only ones, but we had such an amazing time with you two. The whole wedding was a total blast! Being there for the moments, a fly on the wall, documenting it all, and then working with your exhuberant natures to make some totally rockin' images - it was so fun! Humidity and all...
Getting to know you guys and your family was by far one of the best parts of the entire trip. Say hi to everyone for us! We miss you all and hope you are all doing great!
Maybe someday we'll see you guys down in San Diego, and perhaps one day, we'll be down there with you guys. :)
Cheers! :)
