Hello again regular blog viewers. For this uber cool wedding we present a different spin. We'll be showcasing much more photojournalism/documentary shots. Photojournalism is a style of photography that deeply resonates with us. Our sentiments are expressed on our interview with City TV's Celebrity Chef program. In that interview we stated that there is something special about documenting reality in a creative way. By so doing, it allows our couples to live their day out to the fullest, remembering the moments, the love, the feeling of the experience.
So here's a set of work from Janet + Kelvin's recent wedding that showcases both the photojournalistic non-directive side of our wedding images as well as our creative portraits that we so enjoy doing with our couples.
Janet + Kelvin's day began bright and early with the bridal prep, followed shortly afterwards by the door-games. Kelvin was subjected to torturous treatment to pick up his bride, and he did it all with a smile. :) Kissing his groomsmen, waving down passing cars while wearing a big sign around his neck, and passing sea-weed with his lips was all just some of the interesting games the bridesmaids thought up.
Then it was on to the ceremony at Oasis center in the west end of Edmonton. It was our first time to Oasis. What an amazing location for a ceremony! We highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to host a ceremony. The tea ceremony followed along with the famliy formals.
Then after our portrait session with the bridal party (that was a crazy time of laughs and other antics), we had a chance to spend some quality time with our couple.
The reception was hosted at the Northern Bear Golf Course near Sherwood Park. What an amazing day! Could the weather have been any better? It was such a blessing from God for these two. Totally blue skies, bright sunlight, and a gentle breeze.
Janet + Kelvin, thank-you for choosing us to be your wedding photographers, and for trusting us to do whatever we asked from you, including jumping over barb wire (twice) to get where we needed to go. You guys are troopers and we love you for it!
Blessings,
Kenneth + Elaine
