Gotta love Filippino weddings. What makes them so fun, other than the sheer size of their bridal parties, is the richness of culture and traditions that make these weddings so unique.
Speaking of bridal parties, Gia + Richard had a whopping party of more than 12 people not even including themselves. We started off the day, thanking God for the beautiful weather again, and heading off to the groom prep where after a short preparation we headed out for some portraits of the guys on the lake nearby. After that we headed out to meet Gia and the girls as they were getting ready and then it was time for portraits.
We're going to lean more towards the portraiture this blog post simply because of the sheer excitement there is when we're with these huge parties!
The ceremony was held at the St. Joes Basilica downtown followed by an awesome dove release. For anyone who's ever captured one of these, they know it's not an easy thing. Those doves are known to fly right at photographers landing in their hair and all... True stories. But what makes it most difficult is the erratic flight path and super wing speed of these beautiful animals. Funny story... cameras in hand, we were wary not to startle the birds, lest they roost in our hair. :)
After spending some time with the couple, we headed out to the petroleum club for their reception. The first dance began the event with the couple surrounded by bubbles. Later that evening came the money dance, and so many more festivities. A few things that were really great about this reception was the jumpin' DJ! Awesome music choices, bustin' out the grooves. Also they had the most amazing cake and cake topper.
Alright.... that's enough rambling from us. Gia + Richard, we are so blessed to know you guys! We are excited to document your growing family as the years go by and we look forward to the most amazing stories from you guys in the future!
Blessings!
Kenneth + Elaine
