What an amazing couple and what an amazing day. Blessed with some of the most beautiful weather in Calgary, Annette + Derrick tied the knot surrounded by close friends and family. Tears of joy marked this occasion with people tearing up during the prep, during the ceremony, and during the reception.
The day began with the ladies at Angles hair salon and the gents at Sandman hotel, followed by pictures at SAIT. Yes, this awesome couple chose to do their wedding pictures before their ceremony, dispensing with tradition and arranging a much more intimate and personal first meet at a sentimental location on SAIT grounds. Big props go to Annette for her awesome work scouting a great location at SAIT arena. Being a former SAIT hockey player herself, the location for pictures meant a lot. Then it was off to Riley park and a bit of shop hopping in Calgary. For us at JMP it was a bit of a blast from the past with us revisiting Riley park after nearly 6 years for another wedding we were at.
The wedding ceremony in the late afternoon was held at the fabulous Wedding Pavilion, officiated by the dynamic Maureen C. Roberts who has an amazing passion for life evidenced through her freestyle and fun-loving approach to uniting two people in love. It's always great doing pictures before the ceremony allowing the event to flow right into the reception... and what a reception it was! It was hard to find a dry eye in the room with the emotional and nostalgic speeches brimming with love for the couple.
Annette + Derrick, you are two amazing people who were made for each other. Surrounded by so much support and warmth you are truly blessed. Thank-you for choosing us to be your wedding photographers and for bringing us into your world for one precious day.
Blessings and love,
Kenneth + Elaine
