For Angie + John's wedding recently we found ourselves out shooting in Red Deer Alberta. It was a beautiful day. Nothing short of spectacular compared to the weather we've been getting out in Alberta these days. (On that side note: where has summer gone? :)
Blue skies, sunshine, and so many smiles graced the day with the most dear of friends and family gathering out near the farm of Angie's dad. A beautiful plot of land housed a massive tent where drinks were served as people milled about. But let's take a few steps back :)
The day began at Red Deer, where we shot the bridal prep and groom prep at the Capri Hotel. It was unmistakable when driving to Red Deer. The tallest building in the city, which, in our opinion was an awesome hotel to be married at. Angie had her hair and makeup done at Tangles Salon at Red Deer where the uber accommodating hair and makeup artists did up the girls.
Then off to the ceremony we drove. About an hour out of town to the farm where we found friends and family congregating for the wedding in a quaint location situated in the woods with a path lined with pictures that led to the venue. What a nice and wonderful artistic touch.
After the ceremony, we did the majority of the pictures at the farm, where there was a plethora of interesting elements, and finishing off at Red Deer, before heading back to the Capri for the reception. From start to finish, the day was a blast. Half way through the reception Angie + John took us out to a field nearby for sunset pictures, curb hopping with their mini-van ;), and driving over grass to get us where we needed to go.
Angie + John, we had such a great day with you guys, and relive it each time through your photos. Thank-you for choosing us to be your wedding photographers and for being so open to anything we asked for your pictures.
Cheers! :)
Kenneth + Elaine
